Description

NetworkManager is available from Buildroot but requires the following features in the toolchain:

IPV6
LARGEFILE
WCHAR

Verify (or add) these in the Crosstool-NG configuration, then add NetworkManager to Buildroot config.

Actions #1

See NetworkManager web site for usage information: http://projects.gnome.org/NetworkManager/

WCHAR is already configured in Crosstool-NG.

LARGEFILE is already configured in the uClibc config used by Crosstool-NG.

IPV5 is not enabled in uClibc. I've updated the config and have started a build of the toolcahin.

IPV6 was added to the toolchain, but NetworkManager also requires udev instead of mdev.

So a switch to udev is required now. That will be tracked separately.

Actions #4

Enabled IPV6 support in uClibc configuration.

  • Status changed from In Progress to Closed

NetworkManager was dropped in favor of connman, a lightweight alternative specifically for embedded platforms.

Connman is enabled and running in the current builds. This issue can therefore be closed.
