Bug #945

Don't show date/time if no network connection is available.
Added by Hammel over 1 year ago.
Updated about 1 year ago.
Description
After RM #1049 is implemented the launcher can check if a network connection is available (see RM #938). If no network connection is available then we can't update ntp time. In that case, don't draw the time in the status area of the launcher window.
- Subject changed from Kiosks have no wifi - its date/time meaningful without network connetion to Don't show date/time if no network connection is available.
- Description updated (diff)
- Priority changed from Urgent to Immediate
- Severity changed from 02 - High to 03 - Medium
- Blocked by Feature #1049: Write network events to FIFO file. added
When RM #938 is done then the same mechanism can be used to check for IP status and, if we have network connectivity, show the date/time. Otherwise, hide it.
We might want to have a timer go off every now and then to check for network connectivity, along with being notified via IPC from piboxd of changes to the network interface.
- Status changed from New to In Progress
- % Done changed from 0 to 70
Hiding date/time is implemented based on network status. There is already a timer that checks that network status so this issue can be closed after testing this update on hardware.
- % Done changed from 70 to 90
- Severity changed from 03 - Medium to 01 - Critical
Verified on hardware. Need to commit and push.
- Blocked by deleted (Feature #1049: Write network events to FIFO file.)
- Status changed from In Progress to Closed
- % Done changed from 90 to 100
Committed and pushed.
Closing issue.
