Release #898
closedRun full build on colo
100%
Description
It's been so long that I've worked on this that I need to run a full build on the colo.
This should use the docker build environment.
The download archives should be archived into a single ball for downloading to my house. They should then be place in the rpi2 tree for local test builds.
Rebuild all the meta releases as well.
This all has to be done, and bugs resolved, before moving onto release candidate work.

Builds have been updated. There were only small updates to the dev platform (upstream changes to required packages), raspi2fb (which had a build bug), and meta (switch vlib to deb package).
I'm now testing various compression scenarios to reduce the size of the archive collection for release.

I tried all compression mechanisms specifically supported by tar. The best compression came from xz -9. It saves about 43G, but the overall size of the archive (re: downloaded source archives required to build the dev platform) is still well over 1T. So the savings won't mean much if I make the archive available for downloads. So I won't. People will still have to do builds on their own. And I don't want to download that archive myself. I'll just use the archives I have locally.
All meta builds (systems) completed successfully.
Closing task.
