I know I put some in for all apps. Why aren't they showing up in launcher?

Need to complete #956 first, then we can make informed decision on whether to use colored icons based on platform and display types.

Platform detection is implemented. But there is a second part to this - added a new pre-requisite: RM #957. This is needed to better select which icons to use, which in turn determines if colored icons are used (splash images are always colored).
