Setting new time does not stick

Description
Changing the time changes the display, but exiting the app shows (via the new date/time bar in the launcher) that the time has not changed.
This may be because ntp controls the time when connected to the network. ntpd should be enabled/disabled when the network is available/not available.
The calendar can't be changed at all using the FAVI keyboard. This is likely due to a keyboard mapping issue with the calendar widget. Might have to create my own calendar widget.
