According to this writeup the RPi 3 supports both client and AP modes at the same time. The wifi hat uses the same chip (BCM 43438) so the hat will work for this project.

Also, the board/chip supports b/g/n.

I don't need this for the initial implementation with Jarvis to control a light switch. Moving to a much lower priority and severity.

WiFi is supported in the 3B (don't use the 3B+ which uses different, and less stable, firmware). BLE does not have a use in the current design.

Since the uses cases are covered by existing hardware the HAT is no longer needed.

Rejecting issue.
